If you've ever wondered what software you should use to make templates or patterns for your cosplay props, then Adobe Illustrator is the answer!

Building weapon replicas can be tricky, but the hardest part begins before you even touch your EVA foam - creating your template. There are quite a few available online, but if you want to customize your props in any way, or you're cosplaying a lesser known character, then you'll have to rely on some old-fashioned DIY.

In this video I'll teach you the basics of creating a template based on a photo reference - I'm making a Daedric Dagger from "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim", so expect more videos on the process!
